TracNet Internet on board

The two antennas autonomously search the satellite needed, and stay in contact for an optimum data transfer even in a rough sea or when cruising very fast.

Surf in the Internet, whenever you want. With the new KVH High-Speed Internet access TracNet 2.0  this is no longer a problem.
Thanks to the fast data transfer in the download mode and the network connection to your computers on board, TracNet 3.0 is a dynamic link to the Internet, to your emails and even to the data in your office.

In connection with the TracVision Satelliten TV-Antennas the  TracNet 3.0 provides:
• Internet-access including email
• High speed download up to 512 kb/s
• Coverage  virtually everywhere in europe, look at the Hotbird Diagramm below
• 10/100Base-T Ethernet-connection to your computer
• Optional 802.11b wireless hub
• Surfing in the Internet and watching TV at the same time (via reverse channel).

TracNet 2.0 consists of two components: the TracNet-data modem and the TracNet-Server. The TracNet data modem is a Globalstar-data modem. A special Software compresses the data and you get transfer rates of 56 kb/s like a modem. The TracNet-Server is a „Stand-Alone“-PC with a special Software. With the Ethernet-network card up to 5 PC‘s can be connected simultaneously on board. Optional a wireless access is possible. With the expecially preinstalled Software on theTracNet-
Server the Internet access will be controlled , data will be compressed and and the controll of the antenna is taken over. The Internet- sevices are given by a provider. The services are broadcasted with the HOTBIRD Widebeam. 

For the Internet access further cost accrue(Oct.2003) :
- For the Gloabalstar Upload-connection, the price per minute will correspond to the choosen contract (approx. 2 € / min). 
- For the Download per TV-antenna, MB packages will be calculated (e.g. max. 200 MB per month for approx. 80 €).

We recommend the installation by a specialist. Therefore our technicians will come on board of your yacht. Please request an offer. We need information about the berth, the place of the antenna, information about your yacht ( type, length, width ) and the amount of network sockets to install.
